When David shows up the movie turns into shit, but first half was great, lots of great suspense.

I can never quite grasp why they went with a big name like James Franco to kill him off 2 minutes into the movie??

I think he just wanted to be in an Alien film, probably did it on the cheap cheap too, maybe for nothing.
I think I read that somewhere.

I agree. When they were outside in the barren planet and get attacked by the aliens - that seemed cool. The David section is too dark, and there’s too much David and less alien
