Chris Hemsworth Bombs Again!!!
He will be Thor for the next 20 year, unless they replace him with a female
shareHe will be Thor for the next 20 year, unless they replace him with a female
shareDUE IS OVER EXPOSED CURRENTLY...HE NEEDS A COUPLE LESSER "NAME" PROPERTIES OF QUALITY WHERE HE PLAYS LESS ICONIC CHARACTERS.
shareThere is a peculiar trend though. Aside from that first Snow White film, much of his non-Marvel films bombed.
It’s too bad since some like Rush and In The Heart of the Sea are decent. It’s not like he’s making only bad choices since he worked with Michael Mann, Ron Howard, and I can even get behind him working with Paul Feige on Ghostbusters since he was on a roll at the time beforehand.
It’s odd that he hasn’t the same draw as Chris Pratt or Evans outside their Marvel appearances.
Chris Evan's I don't think is having a great run outside his Marvel films. Pratt, Jurassic Park Films would be a success with or without him, Passengers and The Magnificent Seven did fine. He does have great work like Zero Dark Thirty and Moneyball behind him . I'd put Scarlett Johansson as someone who's films outside Marvel films aren't massive hits, I'd put her up there with Hemsworth as someone who's not putting up major numbers outside her non Marvel works.
Hemsworth shows he has some talent with his recent Thor turns. He picks some good films like Bad Times At El Royale, Rush, In The Heart of The Sea, 12 Strong, Cabin In The Woods and Blackhat is underrated imo. He's really though got some stinkers especially big box office films like MIB, Ghostbusters and The Huntsman. Sure most of the good ones don't make money but doesn't take away they are good films.
Out of the Marvel cast, Mark Ruffalo C.V speaks for itself, Jeremy Renner has a good career outside the Marvel films, Josh Brolin is a knocking it out of the park recently but is a respected character actor before Marvel came along.
RUSH AND THE HEART OF THE SEA ARE BOTH EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT FILMS WITH ZERO BOX OFFICE APPEAL.THEN HE DOES SNOW WHITE AND GHOSTBUSTERS AND MIB AND RED DAWN AND VACATION...JUST ONE BIG NAME PROPERTY AFTER ANOTHER(ALL QUESTIOABLE) THAT HE MIXES IN WITH A COUPLE SMALL PRESTIGE FLICKS AND HIS THOR DUTIES.
shareRush is far more than “decent.” It is masterful storytelling and was never intended for a mass market. Neither is Patek-Philippe, Veuve Cliquot, Hugo Boss, Classe Audio or Koenigsegge Automotive.
shareHemmy seems to be the new Hugh Jackman. They both hit it big with a beloved superhero at the start of their careers, said character being their only successful role, making movie after movie that never hits big, always returning to the superhero well to keep themselves famous. He's definitely not letting Thor go any time soon. And aren't they both Australian? Ha.
shareI'm sure he doesn't give two shits..he has steady employment and is super rich....
