My Hellboy Review

Ever wonder why fans are hesitant towards reboots? Look no further than this new Hellboy. Going against everything that the original films stood for. This a film that wants to be Deadpool. Who needs a coherent story when you have a different head coming off every 2 minutes? Who needs mythology when you can make a character say fuck? Swearing is more important than good dialogue. Hellboy was one of my childhood heroes.. The first two films still hold up a genuinely great films. If i was a kid now watching this i would get as much entertainment from banging my head against a wall. The 2004 Hellboy was a passion project by a man who cared about making this character iconic. The 2019 Hellboy is a marketing experiment by a studio who are seeking to scrape whatever money they can from a movie that no one believes in. Take me back to 2004.

Good thing I chose to write this off early and remain true to Del Toro's work.

That's not your review. That's an ad for your blog. I'm reporting you to the moderators.

What a moron! His blog is where he reviews movies. Several Imdb reviewers do this.

Agreed. I have no problem with it, as long as it's a legitimate site, which this is. No-one is forcing me to click on the link and oftentimes it's quite interesting to read these longer fan-reviews.

Well ya know... there WAS a desire for a more faithful or simply better Hellboy adaption (not everyone was impressed by Del Toro’s films).

Take me back to 2004

There were a few ok moments in ‘04, but ewww

Yeah. Most reviewers seem to agree with you.

I think I'd rather watch Del Toro's Hellboy again than sit through this.

"Worst Moment: A quip so bad that my friend got up and left."

I am curious now...

There were many things done right in this new movie. In some ways, it was more true to Hellboy's personality. It definitely hit on many moments from the comic very well.
Where it failed was in much of the script and directorial choices (forced on the director, I'm led to understand). The music choices were bad and some fundamental plot elements were wretched.

It is a bad movie. However, I enjoyed it. I closed one eye to the sour moments and enjoyed seeing them touch on many parts of the fantastic comic book.

Side note: Mila Jovavich is somehow unchanged by time. She is also unchanged by acting experience/lessons. Certainly the lowest point of the movie though still pleasant to look at.

I hated new Hellboy look, his face is atrocious and disgusting to look at. They should have made it smoother.

I agree.. we all love a smooth demon in our midst. With particularly manicured horns, and lips so succulent they could devour us entirely with a single sultry lick...

and those throbbing digits, one by one, penetrating our very being. gently.. softly.. tenderly, till every explicit pleasure erupts within our groins and we grind those fingers, tensing each tantalizing squeeze with a passionate embraces.. Riding every wave of delicious heaven, from the depths of the darkest, sweetest hell..

and ... wait, this isn't my blog... wtf.

You dirty boy... Oo

I am still watching it, tbh, but I just came across the scene where he *spoilers be here, go be elsewhere* he finds the baby replaced as a monster.

Why was he on his back in pain, from just slipping, as opposed to all the times he's hit across fields and just gets up? Only to yell at the demon making an escape?

This movie was 100% click bait.

They could have had 73 minutes of Rick Astley, and people would still have gone "Aww you.. good get!"
