SPOILERS - after knowing all she's done, how would he be able to live with her?

Also, it must and probably would be a constant headache to continuously live with someone whom, especially as a result of any criminal wrongdoing, you obviously cannot LOVE anymore, he isn't going to be TRULY happy with Amy would he?

I have heard that in the book, for one, she somehow sets fear and legal procedures into basically coercing him to be with her.

But under these circumstances, I am sure that he WON'T be happy, correct?

Can a person any person truly live with someone they don't love or even fell out of love with?

His only alternative is to leave his child in her custody, and he's not willing to do that

She's trapped him pretty effectively

I understand your feelings on the matter but people do it all time, stay in, as well as double down on their commitment to remaining in abusive relationships, even when death by physical abuse or some other heinous manner appears to be an inevitability.

Absolutely, nothing wrong with being grateful for NOT experiencing something that many others have and do experience on a daily basis.
Toxicity in relationships is especially insidious as it’s normal/natural to want to see the best in those we love, for both selfless and selfish reasons alike.

In the movie "Eye of the Beholder" (1999) for instance, SPOILER...

Ewan McGreggor's character even falls for Ashley Judd's character in that movie VOLUNTARILY despite FULLY KNOWING that she is a murderous psychopath. That's right, she doesn't FORCE him into loving her, although in that movie, he also does it due to going a little insane after allegedly losing his wife and daughter.
