One of the all time worst movies

Sure, there are thousands of terrible B-movies with low budgets and mediocre talent, but considering the pedigree of this piece, it has to go down in history as one of the most self-indulgent, ill conceived, laugh out loud embarrassments of all time. The only recent stinker with similar pedigree that was as bad was David O. Russell's Joy, but I didn't get far enough in to really comment. The first 20 minutes, though, were cringe worthy.

Pathetic, garbage chick flick posing as a thriller. Only reason I watched throughout in the hope that it would redeem itself, but all it did is slide into ridiculous territory.

Fincher and Nolan - now there is two overrated scumbags. It's difficult to decide who's worse out of the two...Probably Nolan as Fincher did actually make a good movie (Seven) probably more by accident than anything.

This movie is most excellent!
Awesome would be a good word actually.
Pure genius as usual per David Fincher ..

See The Girl on a Train, then decide.

You are correct.

I respect the fact that you didn't enjoy the film.....But when you call it one of the worst movies of all time you become a complete moron.
Don't expect anyone to take you seriously.

'Gone Girl' is nowhere near close to being one of the all-time worst films and to me it is an insult to put it down there. There is no point in naming them because the list is endlessly long and judging from the tone of your post naming them is not worth the bother and a lost cause. I can understand why it won't work for some, and the last 15-20 minutes is the weakest thing about it, but the cinematography, Fincher's direction, the music score, the Cool Girl monologue and especially Rosamund Pike's performance (the acting is very strong, but Pike particularly) are enough to give the film at least a 4 or 5, regardless of what one's feelings on the script, story and ending are. For the record, while not caring for the ending (though I do understand the point it was making), I loved the story and thought the script was very well crafted with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF3lFPW4E1o&t=55s making me appreciate it even more.
