Is a 3rd reboot of Spiderman really needed?
Now its just starting to get silly and unwanted.
shareIf it means bringing him into the MCU and having him be able to interact with a much wider universe of characters. Then yes, another reboot was needed (with the MCU films 12 films deep by the time Spider-Man was introduced it would have been difficult to shoehorn in either set of the previous existing films (that were never meant to be part of such a wide shared continuity) into an already well established multi-superhero universe. Far better to start him off in the MCU with a clean slate)

Agent Hill: ...Then aliens invaded New York and were beaten back, by among others, a giant green monster, a costumed hero from the 40's.... and a god.
Agent Ward: I don't think Thor is technically a god.
Hill: Well...you haven't been near his arms.
~Agents of SHIELD; Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot"
Yes it is needed.
Lose the Game!!!!!!!
I had the same thought when this was first announced. But then it hit me... this Spider-Man is part of the wonderful MCU, right? Well, that is something that many (including yours truly) were happy to finally see happen. And now that he made his epic appearance in Civil War, I'm delighted with the fact this character is being given another big screen adaptation. Incidentally, while Raimi's movies were great in their own right (first two anyway), I honestly felt something was missing...
In any event, as with most movies I anticipate, I'll try not to set my expectations too high for Homecoming. However, I'm betting this Spidey has the potential to being the best one we've seen on the big screen yet.
Apparently. Americans can't get enough of the same thing. No risk. No originality. Just the same thing, over and over and over again...
shareThe last two Spider-Man movies definitely weren't needed. But this one, under MARVEL'S control was ABSOLUTELY needed.
