Is a 3rd reboot of Spiderman really needed?

Now its just starting to get silly and unwanted.

reply

Two years after the failure of the second film series? No it's too soon but THEY GOT TO HAVE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Is a 100000000th thread about this really needed? Now its just starting to get silly and unwanted

yes

reply

I wonder if there will be a 4th reboot.

reply

Why was Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei and Jon Favreau in this movie?

reply

Because no other movies want them.

reply

ouch c'mon brobeans!

reply

brobeans!

reply

bruh

reply

welcome back!

reply

You don't want it, but some of us have wanted it since SM3. The ASM films don't feel like a reboot to me, because they're bad. If they were good, I wouldn't want another movie so soon. But because they're bad, I want it now, to wash the taste out of my mouth.

reply

If anything, I'd say this is the only reboot that IS needed...Spider-Man coming back to Marvel, finally. So to answer your question...yes. This reboot is needed. Desperately.

reply

coming back to marvel? What property owned spider man in the intermediary?

reply

calamb is referring to SONY owning the Spiderman Film Rights

reply

Oh wow that means they had to license spider man back for the avengers?

reply

This is the deal, as far as I know: Sony gets the profits from the Spidey solo films and Marvel gets the profits from any other films Spidey appears in (Civil War, Infinity War)

Marvel benefits as they get to use spidey in their films which is very important to them.

SONY benefits as they can get an added boost to their films as Marvel characters such as Iron Man will appear in films that are produced by SONY.

A search for Marvel SONY Spidey deal will get you more info if you are interested.

reply

Well thats cool. Sony needs a lot of help as of late.

reply

clamb is not there anymore

reply

yeah he moved

reply

oh yeah thanks

It should've not been rebooted in the first place with that awful Amazing Spider-Man

reply

Yep, by 2872 there should be less than eight live-action Spider-Man films...

1, 2 Freddy's coming for you. 3, 4 better lock your door.

reply

no doubt

reply

yes it's needed because as good as the spiderman movies we have now are, they're still just not good enough, they could be even better than they are, i'm still waiting for the ultimate spiderman movie and this reboot could be the one

reply

Well, at least this isn't a retelling of the origin story. It's a solo film for the version of the character already introduced in Civil War.

Please don't call someone a _____tard.

reply

Like hell it's not.

The Raimi trilogy was crap and the Webb movies were just guilty pleasures.

It's about goddamn time we get a good spidey movie

reply

What Mistercloud said, could not agree more and I couldn't have said it better myself! Raimi's me vies are awful, and unbelievably overrated. The Webb movies really are guilty pleasures.

This is the Spider-Man movie all the fans have been waiting for.

reply

How is this the Spider-Man movie we've all been waiting for when we haven't even seen a *beep* trailer for the damn film?

reply

Because he's an idiot Raimi basher who is going to lap up anything we're given even if it sucks.

reply

He's also a Nolan basher. Him and T-eschberger make TASM fanboys look bad.

reply

This is the SECOND reboot.

reply

I am pretty sure this is the third.

reply

It is the third movie adaptation but the second reboot.

reply

Look at it this way: it's the third freaking time they've tried doing this.

reply

Are the Raimi's movies counted as a reboot of the '70s Spider-Man movie?

reply

Shouldn't be, that was a made-for-TV movie.

reply

Still a reboot.

reply

So its a second reboot of the third adaptation? This is the third new actor to play Spiderman, wouldn't that count as 3?

reply

Yes, its 3. The others don't know how to count.

reply

3 adaptations. 3 actors. 2 reboots.

A reboot is when a movie or series gets remade. The Raimi movies were not reboots as there were no movies before that. The first Spider-Man reboot was Amazing Spider-Man. The second reboot was with Tom Holland.

reply

Oh well that makes sense.

reply

I still think its 3 reboots.

reply

Me too, 3 is the number.

reply

Thank you! It's so annoying how some people can't count reboots properly.
The first boot of something can't possibly be a reboot. Plus, if it was, it would mean that every movie was a reboot, even the ones that have only ever booted once. That would make no sense whatsoever!

reply

Exactly. People don't know what reboot means.
