Draft Day opinions thread

So what were your opinions of the movie if you saw it? I'm debating on whether or not to see it

It's a good movie, but it's NFL propaganda, pure and simple. I mean, of course it is! The NFL wouldn't have let them use their licenses if they didn't portray the league as anything less than a paragon of virtue.

This film reminded me why I don't like mainstream movies anymore. I watched it because I'm a football fan. Poorly drawn characters, who are all at odds with the lead character, and appear to detest his very existence. Magically they all rejoice at the conclusion, and declare him a genius.

Kevin Costner, approaching age 60, has had more face work than a restored '57 Chevy, and is approaching the levels of Bob Barker and Robert Stack in freakishness.

Jennifer Garner's character, obviously a trophy wife, is treated in a traditional manner, rather than exploring the office politics of having such a companion as a subordinate.

The office intern is treated as a buffoon, for comedic fodder.

The film really lost me with all the convoluted trades and draft picks, which were so overwrought and unrealistic, they would never occur in the real life NFL.

The dysfunction in that organization, is beyond reconciliation, and no Hollywood ending can remedy it.

All and all, a typical modern day mainstream film for the masses. They should have given it to ESPN or the NFL Network, to fill out their late night schedule.
