Box Office Bomb with $5 million opening weekend

Anyone who even slightly cares already knows the story, and even if you don't care, you still know it. Not to mention the last film about Elvis was pretty bad too.

I heard the movie depicts Elvis as kind of a toxic male oppressor. I can't image many EP fans being too interested in seeing that lol

Also I read the guy playing Elvis (who looks even less like him than Butler) said he had no idea who Elvis was when he got cast and only had vague child memories of him being something to do with Lilo & Stitch .. Great publicity for the movie there dude!😄

Basically the movie would only appeal to the hard core Elvis fans who lap up anything to do with The King for good or bad, and fans of Sofia Coppola

Good I hear this is just a hit piece.

Budget under $20m, not a very wide opening. No international release.
