Offensive to women....

Did anyone find this movie extremely offensive to women... And oh NOT funny...

reply

Seemed in some ways like an updated version of "Nine to Five" from 1980, only the women were plotting against a cheating man instead of a sexist boss.

reply

Except Nine to Five was funny.

reply

Pretty much, if only because it was so incredibly cynical. To the point of being exploitative.

reply

Nope, not at all. My boyfriend and I laughed like crazy! Lighten up, it's a MOVIE.

reply

Not funny ? ...yes. Offensive ? ...not really. Not that men have an abundance of meaningful conversation. Our society on a whole is comprised of dumb-ass's that believe what they're told, and elect George Bush twice. If you want a barometer of todays woman, take a look at the # of nail salons, the amount of women carrying bags that cost hundreds if not thousands, and look like a K-mart bowling ball bag. No one can tell me that if these weren't "trending", anyone would be seen dead with one. Then we have the "Uggs" .....Same thing applies, but with an added caveat. They wear these in sloppy weather, and then pay a cleaner $50 to clean them, and repeat the process. Look at who is walking around staring at their device with thumbs flailing away, messaging pure crap. I could go on ad-nausea. The American society on the whole is pretty pathetic, and women have reached an all time low. So please, can the "I'm offended" speech .....

reply

crap movie. absolute crap. these kinds of movies shaping American society ? how tragic.

reply

I agree with you, but look around and see what else is shaping American society. The level of gun violence is off the charts, along with every other kind of vile, violent depictions of maiming and killing. And then when someone shoots up a school, everyone is dumbfounded.Anyone who doesn't think there is a connection between these shootings, and the level of gun violence a child is likely to see via movies, TV, VIDEO GAMES, etc, etc, is blind or refuses to make the connection. The common answer is "I watched those things, and I didn't do that", which is a asinine view. Does the word "Desensitizing" mean anything here,at the very least?

Here are two points to ponder...
A> ...What kind od creature society makes and watches recreations of their species being killed and maimed for "entertainment" ? ..
B> If a female nipple shows up on prime time broadcast TV, everybody's head explodes, and the switchboard lights up. This is what worries people !

reply

Ugh. You are like a broken record.

Come with me if you don't want paint on your clothes.

reply

It was quite unfunny, but not at all offensive to women.

Reality television spoils fiction.

reply

Dunno 'bout that, but it offends me.
I'm disgusted with the state of cinema.....if it isn't a car chase, fight scene, make-believe history...........It's another GIRLY MOVIE!

reply

Hey, look. It's another American imbecile who found something to feel "offended" about.

Your post carries as much as substance as dog excrement on a stick. You have put forth no opinions, no claims, nothing of meaning whatsoever; just a lame-brained attempt at finding other fellow victims who will echo your shallow "thoughts."

Welcome to the asinine hell that is the politically correct brainwashed lemming's mind.

I'm 45 minutes into it and there hasn't been a funny scene yet. Is this really supposed to be a comedy?
