Looking at many developed countries, gun control seems to work just fine. But I think it might just be too late with the US. There's so many guns in circulation already there and people go completely ape *beep* if someone would try to change that. So basically the US citizens want guns despite the three 9/11s worth of gun deaths every year. I just look at it as darwinism, usually it's the dumb *beep* that kill other dumb *beep* anyway.
