Woke is not a bad thing. Lowest common denominator movies are.

Of course I hate the cookie cutter SJW crap in Disney movies but that is something different from what "Woke" means.

It's a bit scary that right-wing people nullify words. It's too "1984" IMHO.

BTW what's with the giant head chick on the picture?

reply

The people that DO the "cookier cutter SJW crap in Disney (and other) movies" think of it as being "woke". I agree.

We just disagree whether or not it is a good thing (them being sjw, me being right wing).

Why or how do you dislike it, but are unhappy about the semantics of it?

reply

The word "woke" and it's definition has been hijacked and weaponized by the leftists. Just like "antifa" is actually pro-fascist.

reply

Chilone don't choke on your silly fears.

reply

No fears here, leftist.

reply

That's just dumb.

reply

Suck it, leftist.

reply

Why? his statement was one-hundred percent truthful.

Everything about "antifa" is pro-fascist in every way.

reply

Correct. The term "woke" was originally used by libertarian/anarchist/conspiracy types that wanted people to wake up and see the mirage that society has pulled over our eyes. "Stay woke" was a common phrase used when pointing out the things that "they" didn't want us to be aware of.

from Urban Dictionary: "Stay woke means to understand the real world and to look everything and think twice because things can change in a second, to look deep and know what to permanently take something into your life, to know everything that’s fake or [suspect] around you and to know when to cut people off."

It was later bastardized to refer to extreme or unreasonable Social Justice mentality.

God, is that who we have to blame? I consider myself libertarian (but not anarchist), but I've always hated the term "woke" just because it sounds grammatically ignorant.

reply

Yeah, it's about as annoying and intellectually insipid as people who use "y'all", "claps", or "touch grass" unironically.

reply

Ha! I hate "claps back". But I've never heard "touch grass".

reply

It's a young people thing, and it's as annoying as it sounds. But I think I, too, hate "claps back" more than "touch grass". At least the latter's context can be derived from its verb-noun agreement. "Claps back" was/is something I still don't get.

reply

Yep, I think it sounds rather retarded as well. Not to mention that those who consider themselves "woke" seem to be asleep to me.

reply

Perhaps the original definition of "woke" was not a bad thing, but as it is used and understood today it is the ruination of everything it touches.

reply

🤣

reply

And who is to blame? It is the right wing people that blame leftist movie makers from making things "woke". It's the blamers that destroy the word in that case.

reply

All subjective and a matter of perspective but I consider the "Woke" to be rather sleepy and are ushering in what we see happened in stories like 1984.
