Aliens?

The scene with the marines going on aan rescue mission....felt like watching Aliens all over again. However, not a bad thing cause it's a good mooie...solid 8/10.

I thought the same thing! I was like this is deja vu. I agree it was still a great scene

I love coming to these threads, makes me feel less crazy when I come here to find out I'm not the only one with these thoughts.

Reminded me also of Predator.

Aliens, a little Predator, and a good dollop of pulp scifi (the Professor/Scientist whips up a new super duper weapon and saves the day because Science!)
But cliches are cliches are for a reason, and stories get retold endlessly. There's a lot of Beowulf in both Alien and Aliens, and Predator as well.

I knew they'd run into at least one kid because of that. They even have a scene where the lady cleans the little girl's face and they put a helmet on one of them - taken straight from Aliens. I know, I know - 'homage'. The rationalization for every ripped off scene in cinema.

Escaping the first attack was Aliens. The Civvie telling the reluctant officer to pull the troops out.

reply

Gorman, pull your team out!

Came to say the same thing. The little girl even looked like Newt.

why would something reminding you of one of the greatest movies of all time be a bad thing?

When 75% of the movie is a ripoff and 100% of the movie is suffering from poor direction, clichés, mechanical acting and a lack of inspiration, I'd say it become a pretty bad thing.

You're better off watching the originals again.
