If anybody is rethinking about watching this, you'd better re-rethink it, cuz it's scary as hell and extremely well done!!!!
Anybody else feel like this was one of the scariest movies you've seen in the last 10 years??

Personally, I thought there were few, if any "scares". There were some effective shots but who isnt expecting the scare after the camera shot shows us the frame, looks away to the wall or ground and then pans back to the frame with scary thing happening. It was gimmicky. Not a terrible movie but found footage is just not something I support. We know its not actually found footage so just use a regular damn camera. Or at least use it sparingly if its going to be used.
I found West's HOUSE OF THE DEVIL much, much more effective and enjoyable. Insidious and Conjuring are some great recent horror movies but every time I hear someone bring them up as ammo to prove how much they like horror movies I have to wonder how old you are, and how many horror films you've seen (not meaning to be combative here).
Seeing JU-ON (actual Japanese version - I had never seen a preview or even heard of it) in theaters affected me physically, CIGARETTE BURNS will stick in your mind, DEAD GIRL is twisted, SUSPIRA is classic.. There a just too many movies that are more engaging and scary than V/H/S. Though I admit I would have liked to see quite a few of the segments as full features.
That was exactly my reaction after the movie too!
