Why is this movie at a 4.5/10

When transformers is at like 6.8?!?!? It's alright, it's not terrible! Grown ups 2 was a BILLION times worse, and it's higher than 5!

reply

It should be a 2 to be honest.

reply

It should be 7, transformers should be 1 along with GU2

You're trying to make this movie sound better by comparing it with the second worst Sandler film, and the worst franchise out there?

reply

Just out of curiosity, what do you consider to be the worst Sandler film?

reply

I'm going to predict he says "That's My Boy" or "Jack and Jill"

reply

That's My Boy is just stupid laughs, and I enjoyed it for that. Jack and Jill I couldn't stand alltogether.

reply

Jack and Jill. I actually loved That's My Boy. Was my favorite comedy of the year.

Perhaps Going Overboard. That one HAS to be the worst thing he's done.

Definitely Jack and Jill for me.

There's no such thing as a good Sandler film, they are all terrible because he is in them.

^ oh look another sheep, probably a South Park worshiper that follows what they say like it's the book of Mormon..

Says the guy who rated Pulp Fiction a 2/10, The Punisher(2004) a 4/10, and Reign Over Me a 1/10 but rated Star Wars Episode 1 a 10/10, Knowing a 10/10, and Terminator: Salvation a 10/10.

reply

Oh my God. Is this true? If this is, he has NO RIGHT to be saying what's good, and what isn't! I was a Star Wars fan from when I could remember, except for the "first" one. Ruined the franchise for me. Punisher was awesome, could watch it for a whole day and never stop loving it. Pulp Fiction is edgy, witty, and all around fun; I loved it! I've never heard of Reign Over Me, I'll have to check it out. Knowing was one of the worst movies I saw that year. Terminator: Salvation is anything from that. In fact, watching it is more sinful than anything. Also, I do love South Park, but I don't believe EVERYTHING they say is true. Also, CAN WE TALK ABOUT A GOOD SANDLAR MOVIE? ALL WE'RE DOING IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE BAD ONES (I know, kind of a hypocrite like thing to say) BUT SERIOUSLY! Click is one of his best, if not THE best of Sandlar's movies. Happy Gilmore is also really funny too! Blended was okay, it wasn't like Tammy or Grown Ups 2. Also, the first Grown Ups was pretty good, the second one was awful. RESPOND PEOPLE! RESPOND!

Well, He does have his right to his opinion. That being said, I don't see how someone would rate Pulp Fiction a 2/10 even if someone didn't care for the film, it is not even close to that rating. Reign Over Me is highly recommended and is easily one of Sandler's strongest films as it does prove he can be a capable dramatic actor. In my opinon, Sandler's best films are Reign Over Me, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Bulletproof, Airheads, and Punch Drunk Love. Little Nicky is a very guilty pleasure for me and Click, The Longest Yard, Mr. Deeds, and The Waterboy are all pretty decent. I haven't bothered with Grown Ups 2 but to be honest, I didn't care for the first one. As for your opinion on The Punisher(2004), Right on, I love that film and can watch it all day as well. Same goes for Pulp Fiction.

reply

You know else is a good movie? Actually, there's a lot. For instance "Reservoir Dogs" was a fantastic film. One of Quentin Tarantino's best works ever made. Another good movie? Kick-Ass. People may say otherwise, but I love this film! It has everything I love: action, comedy, a good plot, worthwhile characters, and an ending worth 10 stars out of 10. Sure, the last death in the film is impossible and over-the-top, but it's a fun film. I finished watching Grown Ups 2 this morning, dear God was it awful. It was all immature jokes and no laugh. Sandlar can do much better.

The little guy obviously doesn't understand how rating work. He seems to think it's about just liking it or not. Which is why people can't go just by ratings unfortunately. It's people like him who ruin the whole system.

reply

God forbid someone has a different taste than yours

reply

I don't care if he has a different opinion than mine, to each their own. In my second post I even said he has a right to his opinion as does everybody. If he hates Pulp Fiction that is absolutely fine and every movie has a fan and every movie has a hater. My first post was pretty much just a joke and I really don't mind if he has different taste than mine.

reply

It's virtually impossible for a movie to get a weighted average of 1 (a mean of 1 is possible, but not likely). Stop being silly.

reply

It should be a 2 to be honest.

Did you actually see it?

Always be yourself. Unless you can be Batcatt, then always be Batcatt.

reply

Um because it ripped of Tommy Boy all over the place.

reply

This should be a 2-3

reply

Lol, probably because the people rating it are the ones with no sense of humor, and take life too seriously..

reply

a rather lowbrow rationalization…...

reply

I would give it a 4 out of 10 at best. I admit I was the only person in the theater and it might have been a little bit funny if there had been an audience. Nevertheless, it was pretty painful to watch.

reply

What exactly was funny about it? They were all miserable people. Had horrible lives. Sarandon was an alcoholic who was horrible to people. McCarthy was one of the saddest characters I've ever seen. Miserable, treated badly by people she loves, and going nowhere. Miserable. What exactly was funny? (And I love stupid comedies....but this wasn't one)

And Max the king of all wild things wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.

reply

All those movies suck and should be lower.

Probably because it the same role she plays in every movie and I'm over laughing at jokes about her being fat. I get it you are slowly eating yourself to death and can't physically take care of yourself.

cuz. lets face it-it is crap made for morons

reply

Thank you Baylyhunter! I came on here to decide whether or not to see the movie and this and your earlier "Why all the hate?" question have made it clear that I SHOULD see this film. Looking around at some of the threads on"Tammy" I find insults about weight and comparisons to, as you mentioned, ADAM SANDLER'S worst films (who at his best is somewhat anti-feminist and at his worst--and many of his most popular films fit this category--a stereotypically, violent misogynist who relies on his base masculinity to win the game and get the girl -- a very commendable portrayal of how modern men should think and behave, don't you think?). And I never could understand WHY the movie going public seems to prefer movies based on silly outdated comic books to anything that might force them to confront their own prejudices. (Please don't get me wrong here, I enjoy a good special effects or well done sci fi movie very much.) Perhaps the vitriol against this film is partly due its star being a HEAVY WOMAN who is UNAPOLOGETIC about her size, as well as a cultural disturbance regarding OLDER AND AGED WOMEN who are not mild mannered, kindly grandmothers who provide a marginal and sympathetic figure OR whose age related memory loss and confusion a righteous punishment to women debilitated from living well past the feminine societally sanctioned desirable, sexual phase of their lives. SO, I WILL see this film as soon as I can! It takes bigger balls to make a movie about fat and desexualized women than it does to make one about the big metal toys and pituitary hormone enhanced muscle men who play with them, and that are unfortunately the preferred male and manly produced movie of current filmdom. And I after I see it, I think I will go ahead and write a review that I hope will be as subversive of expectations as "Tammy" promises to be. So...thanks again

I'll admit that if I had the choice of watching this movie twice or watch an Adam Sandler movie once, I would lose about three hours of my life.
