Okay, I want to know. Who LIKED this movie?

It had some directing problems, but the story was awesome and the acting was excellent. It's not a masterpiece but it's a unique and interesting film, which you certainly can't say for the majority of movies.

I also wish that movie had come out a decade or so earlier because it would have been a perfect sleepover movie when I was 13 or thereabouts. Actually our favorite sleepover movie was Blow, not an entirely dissimilar film.

I just finished watching it, and I liked it a lot. It was an interesting story to me. I loved all the actors, esp. Franco.

ETA: I loved The Rover. You should give it another chance.

Before viewing, I thought that I wouldn't like it because of the cast. After viewing, I have to admit that I really did enjoy watching. Then I watched the behind-the-scenes sort of thing as part of the special features, and it made a lot more sense.

I think a lot of people saw it because they expected a teen dramedy with James Franco in it. A darker Pitch Perfect, for lack of a better way to describe it. It's definitely not that. Kudos to the marketing (and directing) team on that one.

I loved Gummo and Julien Donkey-Boy but was highly disappointed by Mister Lonely and Trash Humpers.

I liked it, mainly because of the acting.. Thought all did a great job portraying their character. Liked the music used and also the way it's filmed, edited etc.. It gave me an insight of how people can get caught up in the gang culture & how it seems glamorous but in reality it isn't.

I liked this movie, and I am middle aged. I really disliked all of his other movies including Gummo, Kids, and Julien Donkey Boy.

To me this is clearly the best American movie since Malick's "Tree Of Life", a strange, compelling mix of "Ten Little Indians", "Rubber Ring" by The Smiths and kind of reminding me of "Distant Voices Still Lives" conceptually.

Just finished watching this movie for the second time. I probably would have watched it again far sooner, but I was quite pissed at them for killing off Franco's character. Alien was hilarious, and seeing Franco as a G made me laugh that much more. It was when he started singing Britney Spears that I started roaring. He definitely nailed that role. The repetition, the montages, the voice overs. I thought the movie as a whole was quite poetic, which is why I loved it so much. I gave it a 9.
