RT and Box office predictions (Domestic and WW)

Now that we have seen the 2nd trailer, give some predictions on what you think the rotten tomatoes score, metacritic, and box office (Opening Weekend and World Wide) for the movie will be.

Please give serious answers and don't complain about the music in the trailers. Would love to hear yalls predictions.

Im hoping the movie is good

RT
70%

Opening Weekend
45 Million

World Wide Box Office
At least 400 million

I am so excited and I hope it's good and I have hope that it will be but my biggest concern is the writers Adam Cooper and Bill Collage. These guys are terrible writers. They wrote Allegiant, Transporter Refueled, Exodus (which should have been great), and the show Of Kings and Prophets which got cancelled after like 4 seconds. I don't understand how they hired these two guys for this movie. I hope they change their ways with this movie.

reply

What's wrong with Allegiant?

reply

Personally, this movie should make 40 to 45 million opening weekend. As to world wide, I think at least a total of 400 million. The budget for this movie was 150 to 200 million.

reply

65 to 74% on RT

Around 25-30 million on opening weekend.

reply

Honestly, people need to spread the word. The movie can only be a success if people know about it,

165 million WW? More like at least 400 million when everything is said and done.

Video game-based films has a horrid history of not performing well at the box office. Besides, this film is opening at Christmas against monsters like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Sing!. There's only so much room to breathe at the box office.

reply

I love how invariably delusional the posters on any given IMDb video game movie board are.

Consensus: assassin's creed does a beautiful job of adapting it's source material,
while also including visual thrills wanting to
leave the audience with more. Making it a true
winter popcorn flick to see.

Opening weekend: 55million-74million

Worldwide: roughly 650million

guys stop we gotta talk this through

An awful lot of fanboy delusion in this thread.

I'm not surprised, the Warcraft fanboys had the same delusions.

It may be realistic to assume that it might not do well with critics based on the reception of previous video game movies. However, the evidence so far seems to suggest it probably managed to avoid the problems that Warcraft had (production issues at least) and there's nothing yet to suggest that it will turn out badly except for the usual, it's based on a game and those never do well (which is faulty reasoning, by the way, even if every single previous movie based on a game was bad). I'm not expecting that it will be as high as 85% on Rotten Tomatoes but I'm hoping that might do better most.

Oh, by the way, if you look at the Warcraft page on IMDb now, you'll notice that it's been nominated for 2 Annie Awards (and I also happen to know that it's currently on shortlist for a Best Visual Effects Oscar nomination but we'll have to see if it get's that nomination), so it seems to me like video game movies are getting better.
