His accent?

What kind of accent does he have?
Never heard anyone speak like this before.
I found it incredibly annoying.
Am I the only one?

Very annoying. I feel a sickening taste in my esophagus when listening to him. And its not only the lilting up-speak, but he talks so quietly that it lulls you to sleep at times.

Love's turned to lust and blood's turned to dust in my heart.

I'm 10 min in and it is driving me crazy. I don't care about his accent, that's find, but he is "upspeaking" - that is ending nearly every sentence with a rise in pitch. Plus, just a very slow and emotionless tone.

Clearly he is an Irishman - and yes I find his accent bloody annoying too. Almost every sentence that comes out of his mouth sounds like an accusation, I half expect his to say didn't you kill my brother? However- this is a great documentary that doesn't simply concentrate on the usual Hollywood and foreign film classics. A lot of the films etc I have never heard of.

Also - in Australia we call that kind of accent a rising inflection.
