True Coen bros fans, how does this rank among their films?
Is it them on top form? Or were you disappointed? I'm just curious.

shareI would say that I was disappointed, but that would imply that I had high hopes for it. It's one of the few Coen Brothers films that I wasn't particularly excited about. Definitely in the bottom tier for me, alongside A Serious Man (my least favorite Coen film) and The Ladykillers.
Top 5 Coen Brothers Films:
1. True Grit
2. The Big Lebowski
3. Fargo
4. No Country For Old Men
5. Miller's Crossing
Screws fall out all of the time. The world's an imperfect place.

Top third
I used to be a real Coen bros fan back when I didn't have children, a job and a house that's much too far from any decent theater. Have incredible memories of Miller's crossing, loved Fargo and O' Brother (which is the last one I watched in theaters, argh).
I'm not really good at ranking, because I tend to love things in very different ways, but I can't get Inside Llewyn Davis out of my head now that I've finally gotten to watch it, and it makes me realise that I HAVE to catch back on everything I missed (which is something like the four last major films they did...)
Great perspective! I only have to find the time, but I know I will.
I'd say that you should start with 'No Country For Old Men' and view it multiple times. Talk about a Masterpiece... For a film with minimal dialog, it packs a punch with every line. Every shot, layered with themes. Perfection
shareI rank it as one of their best.
Inside Llewyn Davis, A Serious Man, The Big Lebowski and Barton Fink are among my top picks from them.
R.I.P. David Bowie
Definitely "Top Tier" Coen greatness here. Probably my 2nd favorite film of their entire catalog. Fargo, True Grit, No Country, and Big Lebowski are my other faves.
shareNot as good as Fargo, but better than The Ladykillers.
