Beyond political correctness. It's far left fascism.

A review from John Nolte 1 Mar 2014

**SPOILER ALERT** Most of the suspense and therefore enjoyment of Liam Neeson's new action thriller "Non Stop" comes from trying to figure out who the villain is and why this person is doing what he or she is doing. If you read the rest of this article, it will spoil the entire movie for you. Period. You have been warned.

There is no question that "Non-Stop" is a well-made, involving, not-terribly-dumb action-thriller that delivers plenty of suspense and endears Liam Neeson further into the heart of those of us who love well-made, involving, not-terribly-dumb action-thrillers. "Non-Stop" is a good movie. Heck, it is darn near very good. But the left-wing sucker punch at the end is a new low, even for Hollywood.

Here come the spoilers. You have been warned.

On an international flight over the Atlantic, burnt-out alcoholic flight marshal Bill Marks (Neeson) is hoping for a nice easy flight in first class where after sneaking a smoke and drink he might even be able to catch a little shut-eye. A text message informing him that one person on the flight will die every twenty-minutes unless $150 million is wired to an account, ruins that plan.

Counting pilots and crew, there are around 150 souls on board. Marks has 20 minutes to figure out which one is the bad guy. Red herrings abound. Is it one of the many actors whose faces we recognize but names we can't remember? People start to die. Marks is fingered as the hijackert. Who's doing this? Why are they doing this? What is their motive?

Here's the answer:

It turns out that the villain is not a hijacker but a terrorist -- someone who wants to murder everyone on the plane to further a political goal.

You ready…?

The terrorist is a 9/11 family member. Yes, you read that right; the terrorist is a 9/11 family-member who lost a loved-one in the World Trade Center on that terrible September morning.

It gets worse…

After 9/11, this 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist then joined the military but found himself disillusioned by the pointless wars.

And now…

The 9/11 family member-turned-terrorist is upset because America hasn’t done enough to ensure there will never be another 9/11. And so he figures that if he can get an air marshal blamed for a terrorist attack, America will wake up and anally probe us before we're allowed on a plane, or something.

It gets worse…

The villain's sidekick is a member of the American military willing to murder 150 innocent people for a payday.

It gets worse…

The one passenger on the plane who is forever helpful, kind, reasonable, noble, and never under suspicion is a Muslim doctor dressed in traditional Muslim garb including a full beard.

Screw you, Hollywood.

I thought it was a pretty bad movie and the terrorist motivations were insultingly terrible.

Muslim bloke turns out to be a doctor didn't seem much of a stretch though. Really didn't see much political activism in it at all other than making the surely non controversial point that not all Muslims on planes have bombs and that many are actually pretty decent.

I mean it was a fairly ham fisted role that the guy had to play, but then it was a fairly moronic movie so that's only to be expected.

Hang on just a minute. Are you actually complaining because the muslim on the plane wasn't the bad guy? If that's what you're saying, you're a disgrace, and have lost all credibility.

Understand, not all muslims are terrorists. Not all muslims are bad people. Most are just people wanting to live their lives, just like you. If you can't see that, then you're a damned fool.

Yeah, you're right about that but "most" implies +51%. It's that 49% that's worrisome.

If you can't see that, then you're a damned fool.

Yep, you said it, not me.

Just another person who didn't like the movie pulls the anti-leftwing card.
I'ved noticed that when people bash a good movie, they have to either nit-pick the bad details or else go & blame Hollywood for making a movie just to push a political agenda. What bull...

With such a ridiculous title of a post OP is either a troll or some sort of paranoid ignoramus. This is how you reply to such posts people.

No, it's a movie.

I don't see "far left fascism" in this movie.
The motivations of the terrorist/hijackers were irrational but other than that didn't really take any partisan political messages from the film.

reply

It's a movie, a fictional story. Sit back, enjoy your popcorn, and forget about the world according to Fox News for 90+ odd minutes. The world on that screen is not your world. If you can't see that, then maybe you should stick to films like Bears or Dolphin Tale 2.

While I was watching the end where the reasons for the hijacking came out all I thought at the time was how lame that was. Especially the part about the parents being killed on 9-11. I thought, why did they have to add that part. The military connection would have been enough even if it was leftist ideology to blame the military which I've got pretty used to lately in Hollywood movies. I just try not to let it bother me as much as it does some.

Overall I liked the movie and it kept me interested until the end. I just wished they had come up with a more believable ending. I guess they couldn't have it be Muslims because of PC but surely they could have come up with something else. How about Russian Commies who hate the U.S. and want to embarrass the U.S. Anything except using the 9-11 angle.

In any case it isn't something that I'm all whipped up about. Like others have said, it's just a movie. I highly doubt it brainwashed young minds against the military or anything else for that matter.

So it is not possible for an individual to come up with crazy and unbelievable excuses to kill people.

One for sure believed in a pay day, this is not unusual reason to support the devil.

People disembowel other humans because they have a different religion.
People put humans in gas chambers because they don't like their genetics.
people hate each other just because they want to hate.
People believe every person in the world has a conspiracy against them,
example people deep down refuse to believe
existence of atoms, existence of mental disease, real reason of vaccination, and then moon landing happened

To a select few these are lies that so many force on them, in some cases willing to express violence to protect that.
