It was OK and developing... And then just like that it ended. 5/10

It is an insight into the inner workings of the Catholic church, I have read about the Pope elections and they are like that since at least the late medieval. I liked how they conspiring but with the innocence of the holy men... It is only good as a documentary, not as a movie with tension and mystery, and suddenly ends

Did it really just end like that? They had a big reveal with the man with ovaries , and the plot seemed to wrap up fully

reply

Perhaps the revelation didn't socked me that much, the new Pope had a medical condition, so what... I don't know maybe because I'm not that much religious

That should be a spoiler. You are ruining it for those who haven’t seen it. You probably should edit or put some disclaimer.

Dry your eyes . It’s blocked now. I don’t think anyone would have clicked on this thread without first seeing the movie though

That's not the way to behave on this forum. ASSUME there will be folks checking things out who haven't seen. It's not that hard to throw a spoiler tag out there on reveals, etc. I'm pretty sure you've checked out threads on films you haven't seen, am I right ?

reply

The old IMDB forums had a policy that you click on the forums and read at your risk. You have to look at the thread title and make your judgment about whether the thread might have spoilers. Dont be overdramatic

The first part of your post I agree with - it wasn't a short film, it ended with the necessary conclusion - the selection of a new pope after much scheming, suspense i.e. drama. Not much, in my book, to complain about.

The ending initially seemed to be altogether too contrived, but upon reflection I think it was a very deft expression of life's complexities running up against human institutional rigidity/tradition as dogma/power perquisites, yes - a last bastion of patriarchy.
