Hey guys. Thought I would throw this up there for people who are interested in the real Chernobyl. Enjoy, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

These are amazing photos. Haunting. Thanks so much for posting.

As soon as I get around to them, I'll throw up some videos I have as well.

Wow! Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

That was awesome man. Do you have any speculation of anything "else" going on?

reply

Ha. No experimentation, if that's what you mean... I think it would have been a hell of a place to grow up next to. Can you imagine sneaking into Prypiat at night with your boys, drinking vodka and trying to scare the crap out of each other?

reply

Hahahaha hell no man! Don't have the balls for that! Hahaha no experimentation huh? How about ghosts or creatures or anything

reply

Well it's certainly haunted by the ghost of the past, and I've never been in a creepier place. The craziest thing of all is that they turned the whole place into an animal sanctuary. Right after the accident, they killed and burned every animal in the area to keep them from spreading the contamination. But then they just set it up as a preserve since there are no people there. Now there are wolves, wild boar, wild horses, everything you can imagine. Supposedly it has some of the most diverse animal life in all of Europe.

I went to Chernobyl in April. What a difference! 20+C instead of snow. You can't go in most of the buildings now but we did wander around the lower level of one of the apartment buildings in Pripyat. I found it fascinating. I should put the photos on the web. Nice hat by the way!

reply

Ha. Thanks. They told us that during the spring and summer they don't let you go in as many buildings, but since there was so much snow, the radioactive dust was mostly covered up, so we did get to go in a few. But yeah, the whole place is amazing.

COOL!!

Thanks man.

Gorgeous pictures, very haunting at the same time. I've always been 'fascinated' if that's the right word, by what happened in Chernobyl. Not in a "oh that's cool" way but more of a "wow, that really happened" way.

reply

Yeah, it's hard not to be fascinated by it. When they evacuated the city, they told the people that they'd be back in 3 days and only to take what they needed for that time. Obviously, they never were able to come back. It's a lesson to us all, really.

Awesome pictures! Thanks for sharing! Ive always been fascinated by the Chernobyl Disaster and how the Soviet Union handled the event. Thanks for sharing! Ive read and seen numerous documentaries and stories and I hope someday to visit pripyat. Its so enigmatic I cant imagine how it must be to visit! Regarding the movie, they couldave done so much better with it than they did. Im not a big horror film fan (most of them are very poorly done) I just watched this because I thought they could do something interesting with the chernobyl theme but they failed miserably. Couldave been a very good movie

You took some nice photos. The narrative that went with them was nice as well. I bet it was a fun trip!
