The Good Dinosaur Vs Inside out

I saw this film yesterday and I enjoyed it waaay more than inside out. Sorry to the people who enjoyed inside out but I liked the good dinosaur much more. I found the characters at least Arlo and spot more likeable.

Inside Out is way way way better. It had lots to offer to the mature audience (adults) and great fun for the kids as well. A gem of a movie in short.

The Good Dinosaur on the other hand was just average. Good but not much fun and of course not much to take home from it either.

I enjoyed Good Dinosaur more than the average viewer, especially seeing that it has a low score for a Pixar film, but it isn't in the same league as the excellent Inside Out.

I agree. I have seen both and loved the TGD.

Don't get me wrong, Inside Out looks FANTASTIC and has interesting idea but it just wasn't funny nor serious enough. It was just - I watched it twice to see if I am missing anything and it was underwhelming IMHO.

Inside Out was way better; the characters and story are better and more developed, and it was able to tell two stories perfectly together at the same time, something I've never seen in any other movie.

Actually, both movies are among the worst Pixar has produced. Especially Inside Out. They've gone way downhill since WALL-E.

I agree. Finally watched this yesterday in glorious 3D and I was really surprised after all the negativity I'd read. I also enjoyed it much more than Inside Out which, I hate to say, bored me a little and I found it massively overrated.

Some of the animation in this was breathtaking even by Pixar's standards.

Both movies toe the line of apologist mainstream liberal propaganda: that weakness is OK, that depression (or any other mental illness) isn't something you can fix but have to adapt to, etc.

So for my 2c, don't let your kids watch Inside Out, instead rent a copy of Stand By Me (if you can still find a video store.)

And also skip The Good Dinosaur, instead read them The Red Badge or Courage (if you can still find a library that hasn't replaced its collection of American classics with a bunch of books that will be appearing shortly in the bargain bin at Dollar Tree.)

I loved them both.

They were both emotionally moving, but I have to give TGD a leg up because IO had a few too many boring moments. TGD kept me on the edge of my seat all throughout.
