That ending made no sense

Spoilers, obviously.

I mean, what the heck? At the end of the movie Woody abandons Bonnie and all his toy friends, including Buzz, to go hang with Bo Peep and her buddies at the carnival.

What?! Woody, the one character through all 4 movies who preached the value of loyalty, never giving up, never abandoning your responsibility, talking about how great it is to have a kid...suddenly and without warning decides he'd rather be a lost toy.

For no reason. Without explanation or precedent. The rest of the movie was pretty good (not great - the parents indulge Bonnie's obsession with Forky a LOT longer than a normal parent would) but that ending was ridiculous and out of character for Woody.

You blew it, Disney and Pixar.

Woody got a woody after seeing dat new azz on Bo Peep, which oddly enough sounds like a rap name. I can see it now - "Lil Bo Peep"

I would have done the same. Bo was looking like a treat! And she doesn't age? The azz and vaggyJ have mystical powers guys.

Not really out of character, at the beginning of toy story 2 he was tempted to jump in the box with Bo.

Maybe he don't want to loose her again.

It wasn't as bad as I feared (rumor had it the series would end with the toys being sent to a dump) but it was pretty bad. Bonnie was sweet, although neglectful of Woody, vs. Bo who was kind of snippy.

While I must say that I was rather shocked by this ending, it is true that Woody never bonded with Bonnie like he did with Andy.
Besides, it is true like a different poster said that he was prepared to leave all of his friends for a museum in Japan already in "Toy Story 2".
Oh well, I think we know that Woody and Bo will reunite with their old friends in the next movie anyway...
