Daniel Brühl's Austrian Accent

Don't get me wrong, the casting was impeccable. They all looked as close to the original people as you can get but Brühl's accent was horrendous. He sounded like he was making an Indian accent at times.

I have a good friend from Austria - he sounded just like him

I'm Austrian and I thought his accent was perfect, both in German and in English.

A more apt title to this thread would have been "Nicky Lauda's Austrian Accent".

Bruhl wasn't really doing an Austrian accent per se but was potraying an actual living person. (and doing it very well).

It was the actual Nicky Lauda that did the final voiceover at the end, would never have picked the difference between him and Bruhl... they sound exactly the same.
