It's an entertaining movie that keeps your attention. Although, the script could have been a little tighter and more of a hitchcockian twist would have been better, it still keeps a very nice pace and loved the homage to hitchcock in many respects. I'd love to see more movies in this type of hitchcockian suspense genre.

Wow. You found THIS "boring & disappointing?" Incredible. It's a sad sign of the times when people are no longer able to appreciate something like this. And your critique is that "it sucked big time..." How did you even end up being in the audience for a film like this? Was the "Teenage Ninja Turtles" movie sold out, or something?

"IMdB; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...'

Pinku,

That is my reaction, too. I don't understand why people who clearly prefer different kinds of films to this one feel a need to crap all over it on a message board. And OF COURSE the cliche of "It's boring!" MUST be stated. It obviously doesn't do, even in the minds of the artistically close minded and conservative, to state the obvious - "I showed up at the cineplex and had already seen all the films filled with explosions and loud noises, so I saw this one."

I don't always agree with the reviews IMDb chooses to highlight, but the review for this film got it right. This is not on the level of the well made films by directors like Hitchcock or Huston, but it shares with them an adult perspective and an interest in a kind of film not often made these days, which is very much to it's credit. Add in excellent performances by Mortenson and Isaac, and it deserves somewhere between an 8 and a 9. (If Dunst had been a bit stronger I would say 9).

If by 'crap all over it' you mean 'expressing their own opinion' it's because they can.

Just like you saying this is nearly a 9. Clearly, the vast majority of people who voted for this movie disagree with your assessment.

Idiots like yourself who constantly use the cop out of "we all have opinions" as a means to justify your blatant lacking intellect, are destroying this *beep* planet.

And referencing an IMDb movie score to spitefully suggest that someone's perspective is unpopular, speaks to your sheepness. As if this thread doesn't demonstrate how many idiots don't even know HOW to appreciate a film like this

I agree with you kenny-164. I found it to be a good movie because it was plausible. Everything that happened could have in the time in which it was set. Being believable is not over rated.

I was disappointed too and I love Viggo. What was up with Rydal? He was staring because he wanted the wife? That's it. Wasn't there more to him than just some pennyante scamming? So many missed opportunities to make this better. Great cinematography though.
