OP is a common dunce, who has the attention span of a gerbil, and needs action, car chases, sex, well-choreographed fights, and winged demons dropping unholy bombs upon the protagonist in order to jolt him out of his mental complacency.

As do the rest of you who found this boring. You have failed. Back to Walmart!

Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention Transformers, as per the usual, shame on me.

It's like they purposefully wasted every opportunity for characterization, plot development or any way they could have used the setting; not to mention the brilliant cast. Disappointing indeed.

it's below average for me overall as it's just pretty dull. it's definitely one of the weakest movies of 2014 i have seen of the 39 2014 released movies i have seen so far.

After reading hundreds and hundreds of reviews and message boards at IMDb, I am now convinced that most people watch so many movies now instead of enjoying them for what they are they have become desensitized snobs who cannot simply have a good time at the movies but must nitpick and complain about every imperfection.

A LOT of people out there are simply stupid. That is not a joke. Then completely separate from that there's whether or not an individual truly appreciates, & understands how to appreciate film. What goes in to making a film. What it takes to perform on camera when the film is rolling. You have no idea how many people who've never acted a days in there lives strut around criticizing performances like they know it all. It is lame, so lame, and fricken Star Wars TFA was the largest example in the modern era of film, of how many incredibly lame movie goers, & watchers, surround us on a daily basis. Also how easily manipulated people are by branding & advertising, but that's an entirely separate discission.

It all depends on what you appreciate in a movie. I for one noticed the brilliant acting, the amazing scenery and the gripping story and enjoyed the movie due to them despite the slow pace.

Sorry but i thought it was great, a nice classic thriller. It zipped along nicely, had excellent acting, beautiful scenery and period detail.

The pace didn't bother me, but then I don't much like the frenetic pace of so many films these days. It so often attempts to cover for poor filmmaking. It's rare that a film like AMERICAN HUSTLE can pull off a fast pace and still work.

A complete yawn-fest. I love Viggo and will watch him in anything. I don't need it to be an action-packed film, but this doesn't even pass for good drama. This felt like a Talented Mr. Ripley wannabe. Except it doesn't come close to the suspense of that great film.

I love Viggo too, but even he couldn't rescue that amateurish script. Rydal was miscast; that fellow couldn't act either and came across as an annoying little kissup. Kirsten Dunst does not have the gravitas --- she came across as a midwestern home-ec student.No suspense whatsoever here. I was surprised at how bad this was. It should have been great.

Have to agree. I felt the same, the characters have zero chemistry, the second unit could've done a better job during the suspense scenes. Tired of adult dramas without the steamy scenes because that is what this whole film is based on , lust revenge,greed and sexual tension. Instead we are lead to forcefully believe what they are up to .

No tension. No chemistry and a pathetic ending. The scenery and the design of the movie is excellent. Felt like i was actually in that place.

A twistless thriller. Very foolish.
I didn't like the 20 minutes of Transformers that I saw either.
However, I just caught Saboteur on TV again, and they certainly knew how to make thrillers in those days.
