I was about an hour into this and had to shut it off - its preposterous!!!! I could see playing along with the "police officer" in the beginning - but by this point, again, an hour into the film - there is no one, not even on planet earth, stupid enough to not be able to see that there is some kind of BS going on with the officer. If anyone disagrees with me Id love to hear an alternative opinion.
I agree. I barely made it through this movie. These people were beyond stupid, and pretty much deserved what they got from their abuser. Sorry, I normally have a little more compassion for "victims", but not in this case.
Of course, McDonald is hugely responsible in this situation. As a hard nosed franchise corporation, they obviously dictate every micro centimeter and nano capsule of anything that goes into the operation, branding, production, training, communication and throughput.... and make Billions in the process. They enforce stringent and draconian rules to ensure uniformity across franchises across all continents. Come on, don't tell me they don't take blame for being sloppy in sharing alerts across their chain. That is what you expect from fortune 500 companies or else they pay. The $1.1 Million is a laughable loose change for these guys in tall glass towers. Should pity girls like these who get victimized.
It's basic law. The manager that made Louise Ogborn do all this was acting as an agent of McDonald's. Because what is a corporation if it's not the people who work for it? When you as a consumer conduct business with McDonald's it's at a micro level (i.e. the people behind the counter). For your purposes, they are McDonald's. Therefore when Donna Summers detained Ogborn and ordered to do all the things she did, it was McDonald's doing this to Ogborn.
