How one scene can destroy a movie...

A guy gets shot directly in the frontal lobe and still lives enough to ask a dog for a paw? Come on!

Once I saw this, the whole movie lost it's flare. Even though it was pretty good overall.

If it wasn't for that one scene I would recommend this movie to my friends, but now it's just 'meh'.

Gabby Giffords took one to the frontal lobe and lived to tell the tale. So, uttering a few words post brain-shot is not completely beyond the realm of possibility.

OP misses the point. This was an answer to the 'do heads actually explode when shot?' question, which was raised after Billy, the three of them around the campfire in the desert, acted out his preferred shoot out ending of the movie.

All in all this was a very funny movie, original script, and great acting - Sam Rockwell to begin with. And Christopher Walken, but that goes without saying.

No, it wasn't just that one scene, it was about half the scenes that ruined the film unfortunately. This movie wished it was a Quinton Tarrintino, but never was. Dumb dialogue, convoluted story, nonsensical outcomes, annoying characters, and only some modest moments of entertaining in between. It was OK, but really, really, stupid and devoid of any cinematic merit for the most part. So no, that one scene did not ruin the movie, about half the scenes ruined the movie.

Also, in the rare instance where someone was shot in the head and survived its almost always either a weak, poor functioning weapon, as you would find in 3rd world countries, or, a glancing blow that riccochets off the skull instead of going through. Neither was the case here, as its another reason why this stupid movie was painfully dumb at times, and will never, ever, be considered a good movie. Ever.

Dumb entertainment for low IQ movie goers. Could have been so much better, shot very well, good actors, but a terrible convoluted story, with no point, and dumb dialogue makes for a pile of crap shot on nice looking film. It was at least somewhat entertaining though, but not even remotely "good".

All I can say then is that if that's the case, for whatever reason, you weren't appreciating the movie with the spirit that was intended. It is primarily a comedy.

why don;t you read up on the actual medical science surrounding this. Plenty of people survive smaller calibre rounds to the head- the real world doesn't work like A Fistful of Dollars.

Chill, will ya? Face it. This movie was half comedy, half thriller!
