Im guessing none of you have been bullied

Well first of all.. even if you are drop-dead gorgeouse you can still be bullied. there is no steriotype bullied person. and in a lot of high school's, being called a slut etc is a big deal! to me this movie is right on the spot! this is realistic. i've seen it happen like this. im guessing those who have this coments have never been bullied. And to those who don't think it have happend at their high school are just blind. cuz it happens everywhere. just that people react differently. look at the different characters. the "gay guy" doesnt stop going to school or have a melt down. but still its tearing him up. I think its a great movie that kids need to see. cuz this is happening everywhere

I think a lot of people struggle to empathize, even people who have been bullied before struggle with this. Just like how Taylor basically rolled her eyes at Caleb when he first mentioned being bullied, some people will think they have it worst and the other's person's problems are less comparatively. It's true, people do react differently. Once it reaches breaking point, logic escapes and the person has even less control.

Although I do agree that cyberbullying is real and a serious issue that needs attention, this movie wasn't exactly a realistic portrayal of a serious case of cyberbullying. I just kept asking myself, why does this girl give so much importance to Lindsey? Let her say whatever she likes, who the hell gives a *beep* Then the fake video got her into tears. I mean she was taking everything a bit too seriously.

Look, I can only speak for myself as nothing like this ever happened to me and even if it did, I wouldn't put much weight on what one person was saying about me. I have learned the art of ignoring wankers from a very early age. Despite all this I gave this movie a 7/10 because I am willing to give the benefit of doubt to her. Different people react different, that's a fact. Some people are oversensitive. Overall I think its a good movie that people shouldn't just blow away.

Stephanie Germanotta was bullied and look what she became. Lady gaga. Stephanie is a huge Starr and advocates for those who are bullied. So if you're a Lady GaGa fan, and you like to bully, I guarantee she is no fan of yours. She was called a loser and picked on too. But the truth is? She never was a loser and never will be, and neither are any of you that are bullied. But you know who the real loser is? The Bully!

slut! ya such a slut! boom! are you upset and suicidal no? listen theres being an a$$hole and theres being a bully. i punched bitches in the mouth when it got real. this is stupid the whole situation is stupid i had bully seminars in senior year instead of being taught to do my taxes. half of it was online crap. i have never met anyone as dedicated of ruining the life of someone. and this chick is like a disney villian in terms of sheer dedication (makes sense since disney owns abc). it's not realistic but what can be expected from this crappy movie. then her killing herself is so freakin funny. i can't get the cap off? what the hell is that?!

I have to agree that bullying (cyber or not) is a serious problem that doesn't just go away. I was bullied in High School to the point I ended up having to Go for my High School Equivalency Diploma through Blackhawk Tech. rather than finishing in regular High School. There were three main reasons for someone being bullied in the school I went to: 1) not having the right name (i.e. your family hadn't lived in the town for at least 3 generations), 2) Not having the money to dress in the highest fashions that kids were wearing and 3) having any physical or other type of handicap. Since my family had moved there, we were poor and I had some (mostly physical) handicaps I had three strikes against me. One time an upper classman sprayed me in the face with a can of hair spray (I had to have one of my eyes flushed out afterward) and the principal let him get away with it. His family had the right name. Later when I had further problems and got into it with another student the principal asked why I hadn't come to him. I pointed out he hadn't done anything in regard to the hairspray incident, and he looked at me and told me he couldn't fight all my battles for me. I could have been blinded, but he didn't care. Later he became school superintendent. To this day I have no love for Brodhead Wisconsin as a result of the school's lack of action against the bullying. According to them it was all my fault because I didn't walk right, talk right or wear the right clothes. As I have some motor skill deficiencies as well as speech impediment and was from a poor home I couldn't very well do anything about it. In fact two of the three things are beyond any ability to change. If you are bullied long enough it is very hard to see any way to fight back especially when the adults around you are unwilling to do anything to correct the situation. In the end I refused to let them break me but I know of at least one family where one of the kids had planned to commit suicide. Someone caught on in time (as far as I know) but there is a fine line between kidding around and outright hateful bullying that can lead to tragedy.

This wasn't a realistic portrayal of a bullied girl we could empathize with; this was a self-absorbed, over-sensitive girl who got "suicidal" after being called slut a few times. As someone who was bullied for years and at multiple schools, this movie is indeed upsetting, but not in a tugs on the heart strings way.
