other movies like this one?

Well you know its a good movie when it makes you think so hard! i totally loved this movie and the discussions its sparked with a bunch of my friends (those that i practically forced into watching the movie :D ).. theres so much that the director has left for us to fill in with our own imagination.. kudos!

So was wondering, anyone come across any other movies like this one??

btw the rating is so unfair.. i mean why rate if you dont get the movie?

reply

If you liked this movie, there is another one that contain certain common elements, called Triangle.
Don't read any other comment, the boards or anything about it, just watch it.

One ideal if you want to discuss with your friends...Primer :D

reply

If your talking about the Triangle with Melissa George it's quite good. A buried treasure.

reply

Definitely Primer. It's not horror or scary but it a very cool time-travel related plot. The same director has a movie on Netflix now called Upstream Color that I haven't seen but hoping to watch very soon.
Also Triangle (2009) I wouldn't call it horror but it is a mind-bending movie with an unexpected ending that I really enjoyed.

reply

Triangle is far superior.

reply

Triangle you can understand it on your first viewing...with Primer you will need to watch it several times to grasp what's happening.

Regarding which one is superior, it's totally subjective...so it's ok!

reply

Haven't seen Primer, I was comparing it to Devil's Pass.

reply

And if you'd like to know why people in these situations keep diving head first into the danger like they were the decade's winner of the Darwin Award, watch The Cabin in The Woods.

reply

I really liked Cabin in the Woods, it was different. Just when it got kinda meh the plot turned itself on its head and I was like wtf. Bizarre twist I give it credit for not just being another slasher even tho yeah the characters are idiots.
Chernobyl Diaries entered my mind while watching Devils Pass, mainly bc it took place in Russia and was "found footage". Chernobyl was more a straight forward movie tho, it didn't have the space/time continuum or whatever element that Devils Pass has.

reply

Chernobyl is in Ukraine not Russia. It was in Russia - actually USSR - before 1991.

reply

Yeah, Chernobyl is actually no less than a hundred miles west of the Russian border.

reply

YellowBrickRoad. Enjoy.

Triangle is the Best...

Identity is excellent. A bit different to ur OP. But great movie

reply

This reminded me a lot the spanish film REC.

Although this movie isn't a "found footage" film (it was done in 1980) and it's not "horror" but more sci-fi & action/drama, it clearly served as inspiration for some of "Devil's Pass": Watch THE FINAL COUNTDOWN starring Kirk Douglas & Martin Sheen, about an aircraft carrier that gets teleported back to 1941, specifically the day before the Pearl Harbor attack. It's a very entertaining movie.
While you're at it, watch the "reverse" version, THE PHILADELPHIA EXPERIMENT (1984) starring Michael Pare & Nancy Allen. In it, two sailors in 1943 who are stationed on a ship being used as an experiment to make it invisible to radar, find themselves time-traveling forward to 1984 (what a groovy year to travel to!). The incident that this story takes its premise from is a famous urban legend.

Also, there's this little film called ABSENTIA (from 2011) directed by Mike Flanagan that involves a disappearance, one scary tunnel and other creepy elements that you'll appreciate.

Happy watching!

reply

I loved Absentia! A much underrated film, indeed

reply

Check out "Resolution." It's on Netflix Instant.

reply

May as well watch all of "Lost" while you're at it.

reply
