It simply doesn't work.
It's impossible to engage in suspension of disbelief with Jim Carey doing anything other than comedy.
Some comedians have good range and can crossover to drama effortlessly. Robin Williams is another who could do so very well. I'm looking forward to this one.

Just in case all the other comments didn't hammer it in deep enough: he's a great dramatist. Maybe watch his other movies before spouting babble like an uneducated millennial with an inflated sense of ego.
