"I'm Twigman."

This guy is tinny.

Worst Batman casting ever.

reply

Keaton wasn't exactly big.

reply

You need a small body to make the suit look good on screen. Otherwise you end up with Balloonman Batfleck.

reply

Pattinson is over 6 feet and fit enough for the role

reply

Not compared to Bale.

Bale is a little more buff but Pattinson is still in pretty great shade to take on Batman.

reply

Little more buff? Bale is the quintessential Batman as far as looks and fitness is concerned.

Pattinson on the other hand... the guy has a flabbier midsection than I do!

I just can't take someone like that seriously as Batman when they're in worse shape than me. It completely ruins the idea that this guy is supposed to be peak human conditioning.

Could you imagine if Chris Evans had a beer belly while playing Captain America?!

reply

If you're referring to the pic above, Pattinson doesn't have a flabby mid-section. His stomach is flat with some ab definition.

His problem isn't his body fat percentage, but his relative lack of muscle mass.

reply

Exactly. Pattinson is pretty lean around his stomach area but he's just not that muscular on his upper body area but still muscular enough to play Batman.

reply

Pattinson definitely doesn't really have any fat on his stomach area. The pic actually shows some of his abdominal definition. He doesn't have a six pack but he doesn't exactly need that to fullfill the appearance of Batman and compared to Bales adbominus muscles, they are about the same. Bale just has more upper body muscle mass than Pattinson that's all.

reply

Bale just has more upper body muscle mass than Pattinson that's all.

That makes a pretty huge difference. It gives the appearance that Bale could throw a punch and wreck a guy. Or lift him over his head and body slam him.

Here is a guy who doesn't have the largest biceps but has such a cut midsection that you could give him a pass:

The problem with Pattinson is that he looks lanky and unconvincing. There is nothing physically intimidating about him at all.

reply

I wouldn't go as far as saying he looks lanky. Yes, perhaps not having as fit of an upper body physique as Bale may make a pretty big difference but he's still in good shape for the role.

reply

.... Im over 6ft, does that make me fit for the role?

What if they could find someone OVER 7 FEET????!

reply

I didn't say just being over 6 feet genuinely means he's fit for the role. I said hes 6 feet AND fit enough for the role. I didn't say something like "he's 6 feet SO he's fit enough." Learn how to read.

reply

I know what you said and although I'm a tall person I thought I'd point out how prejudice you were being to those who are vertically challenged.

Are you saying short people cannot ever be Batman?!

reply

How exactly did that come off as prejudice? All I said was in response to what you said about Pattinson being too "tiny" for Batman. So aren't exactly you coming off as prejudice against "tiny" people? And all I said in response is that he was over 6 feet therefore indicating that his height is one factor that contributes to the accuracy of the appearance of Batman.

Gosh do you know how to comprehend any form of reading material?

reply

Not tiny as in small, tinny as in the metal. It's not a prejudice since it's an element.

I am starting to see your side of the argument against short people however.

reply

He looks like a ghoul in the non mask screenshots on IMDb. More like son of Solomon Grundy than Bruce Wayne.

reply

Thank you!

I originally thought it was the Joker or some other villain when he had the mask off.

Way too emo to be Bruce Wayne. Reminds me when they had done some screen tests with Cillian Murphy as Batman. Cillian is a great actor, but he sure as heck isn't Batman.

reply

BATMAN HASN'T WORKED IN A WHILE AND WHEN IT DID WE GOT A GOOD NUMBER OF FILMS...IT'S BEEN DONE AND REDONE...THIS IS GOING TO BE DIFFERENT...THUS...THINGS ARE NOT EXACTLY AS YOU PICTURE THEM,BASED ON YOUR FAVORITE INTERPRETATIONS.

reply

I don't have a favourite interpretation. Just a realistic vision that Batman should believably be able to take on multiple assailants at once. Pattizombie doesn't give me that assurance. Which makes me too aware it's a movie and drags it into realms of not achievable suspension of disbelief.

Ps. Why are you shouting at me?

reply

BATMAN IS A GADGET USING DETECTIVE....NOT A PIT FIGHTER...PATTINSON IS TALLER THAN KEATON...DUDE IS A TOP NOTCH ACTOR AND IS IN DECENT SHAPE TOO.

I AM NOT SHOUTING...I AM JUST ME.
