Does anyone else find sue perkins (especially sue) and the other host remotely funny? Because I don't in the least. They almost kill the whole show with their awkward little jokes and pund, it is so painful! They don't even seem to match the whole tone of the show. Wish they had hosts as classy, calm and normal as the judges. And only one host actually. What is the point of 2? Especially those 2....

shareOmigosh, no. I love them. Especially after seeing two different US versions and their host. (To be honest, Jeff Foxworthy was pretty good. Nia and Ian were abysmal. But Sue and Mel are awesome.) Though, the only thing I do dislike about them is that fiddle with the bakers while they're baking which has led to disaster for some. Talk, comment, joke, bring some much needed levity. But hands off the goods till judging!

As I understand it, they are a comedy duo. While I find Mel to be sweet, I agree that Sue bugs. Her exaggerated goofiness is fairly annoying and I could go the rest of my life without hearing her grunt out "baaaaake!"

Before watching this show, I'd never heard of either of these women (or Mary Berry... I had seen Paul Hollywood on something) but it just wouldn't be the same without them.
I'm with you, mpgladwell, those two give me the creeps. The ready, set, bake line makes me want to stuff their mouths with a large wad of marzipan.

shareI don't know which one is which--there's the blonde one, and the butch one. I find them both irritating at times, especially the butch one.
Three months later: I've seen three series of GBBS now, and I've grown to accept them and even like them. Now the only time I find them irritating is when they say "Bake!" in a high-pitched falsetto.
Yet another update: I like Noel and Sandi even better.
And another: I don't much care for Matt Lucas.
Update 2022: I've grown to accept Matt, but I'm still not enthusiastic about him.
2023: Alison Hammond is a great improvement over Matt Lucas. I hope she stays around.
The hosts in 2021 are just so annoying. They are disruptive, unfunny and one is bald. Woke hosts.
