Unwatchable due to shaking camera

I'm not positive, but I'm sure that there are other directors who use tracks and steady cams in their movies.

Scorsese might be the only director in Hollywood who does though. I'll have to watch any other movie other made to be sure though.

Also, the way the movie was filmed holds no bearing on the storytelling itself.

I agree that a few scenes were kind of shaky, but a big chunk of the movie was pretty steady.

Just watched it and there is very little shakey camera....and I mean hardly any at all.

Only a few scenes, and it was intended immerse the viewer in the chaos of the situation.

I disliked that too... have ever since MTV introduced it into popular culture.

I was able to ignore it, but barely. It made it hard to distinguish some cops and gang members from one another.

I figured it was to imply that most of the film was recorded by participants' camcorders, though they kind of gave up on that when "Sarge" took Brian's camera away.
