Covenant vs Romulus

I felt let down by the teen cast and the static xeno action in the movie plus the fast paced facehugger action who felt like annoying bats. Also I didn't think the gravity scene was that great because the cgi blood floating looked bad plus I never digged the focus on the acid blood too much.

I feel the Xenos were too slow and too static and weren't really scary because the pulse rifle shredded them into shreds in seconds.

I feel like while I didn't like covenant that much because of the spiritual engineer world stuff the Xeno cgi and overall production value seemed better. Also the more mature crew.

Romulus is goddamn great. Better in virtually every conceivably aspect than thy preferred film. Close it is not.

Negative, Romulus is the inferior product? Well naturally many on here share that view. But fortunately, a lot of the world doesn’t. :) Unlike the new one, Covenant disappointed many and justifiably so. So yes, it’s good to see that despite what the negative voices are saying, Romulus has been embraced by many more overall (and more than any post-Aliens film, to boot).

Btw teen cast… except they’re all in their 20’s. Focusing on a younger and more inexperienced team was the intent here, though like that matters to the non-fans. And lol, of course even when a modern sci-fi film makes it its goal to stick largely to practical effects (that was Romulus indeed and man did the creatures & sets look terrific), some still go grrr CGI! Well y’all can have Covenant. Lets go Romulus 😎

What a sad comparison. Covenant is very bad. Romulus starts off looking promising and then turns out worse. So, based on the little bit of good at the beginning of Romulus I still wind up rating them both equally bad by the end.

Yes, two worst films in the alien saga aside from AVP Requiem. Which is also sad because the first two movies in the series were the only great ones.

Well, I don't think Prometheus is worth ever seeing again... I'm one of those who actually like Alien 3 - too bad about the characters we wanted to see again but, shit happens. My very short description of Alien 3 is - shit happens. Nihilism seemed like a good place to end the series and that's where it ends for me.

I am partial to Resurrection over A3, I prefer to see Ripley as a badass, although A3 works better as a standalone feature without taking into account the previous movies.

Romulus is a nice movie, Covenant is the worst of the franchise
