Last episode (S04E07) was really an insult to Norwegians.
First at all, we can cook! We don't make bad food that you get sick of.
Second, we don't sound like that! We actually sound like real americans when we speak english!
That guy didn't even say "Lutefisk" correctly himself and we have so much more than just fish! Yuck!
Anyone else that thought it was an insult?
I got so annoyed with this episode so just wanted to share.
I'm only halfway through the first season, but if you're insulted by how they treated Norwegians in one episode, it's a good thing you're not a southerner!!!
I'm a southerner, but I'm going to watch the rest of the show because it's funny.
Do you think anything on TV is actually REAL? Like Friends, Smallville, or the Addams Family???
At least you made it to season 4--not much left to insult you again!

hi Aria :) I know your post is over a year old but I just finished watching this series on Netflix and came over to read reactions about it.
I am from the American South and can tell you from personal experience that, for me, this scene was mocking Southern restaurants and not Norwegians. My husband and I just moved from a bigger city to a small rural town (like Bluebell minus the musical numbers) and there are so many restaurants like this. Our Chinese restaurant is run by Koreans and serves mostly Japanese food except for the minestrone they serve for the soup course. Our two Italian restaurants are run by Greeks and one of them serves hot dogs, pancakes and tacos! They are terrible. I thought this scene was hilarious because it is exactly what I would imagine an alleged 'Norwegian' restaurant in our little town to be - horrible and not Norwegian at all.
Americans insult Britiain all the time. They think rains all the time and pretend they invent things we did. I am from the UK, but I don't care that much, I know the truth, and that's all I care about.
