So when does this actually show get good? At SE1E14 right now

Not a knock. Just started watching it.
I like a good horror/fantasy mix. Show's decent, but not great thus far.
Seems more of a monster, or in this case, freak of the week type deal.
Does it go beyond that? An expanded cast, character developments, story, etc?

first a Gravesender.now a New Yorker.always a Gravesender.

Grimm is not a show where they are trying to tell a story. The show contrives scenarios to facilitate different actions. The show has a story arc. But there is not a lot of effort used to make it a cohesive story. The story is there to facilitate the action. Each character goes though changes some more drastict then others. The changes are not as much growth as they are adapting to their circumstances. The show is a lot of lets see what they do next. What can be expected is the fantasy keeps increasing. With magic becoming a big component of the show.

The first three seasons are the best in my opinion. It really excelled in the monster of the week format, but always took much too long to develop and resolve story arcs in a satisfying way. In fact most are dropped without any explanation at all. As frustrating as this was, it didn't get to be too much for me until season 4 when I felt it really went off the rails. Just way too many plots and subplots and uninteresting characters to keep track of, where it felt like Nick wasn't even the main focus of his own show. Good luck trying to keep track of all the different evil wesen groups and the constant introductions and deaths of the
various royal family members and oh Adalind's kids. The show was much better when it was mainly Nick, Hank and Monroe solving Vesen
crimes.

I liked it from S1E1, then I grew to love the characters. So if there was an episode here or there I didn't care for in the scenario part of it, I always came back to the characters. For me if I don't particularly like something after 5 episodes, I would have given up(perhaps to come back to it in syndication). So the fact you stuck it out this long, I give you thumbs up-not many people will do that anymore.
