how has this show been so successful?

it's interesting that a show this bad and this mediocre can possibly be so successful. season 8 really??? i mean the chemistry between mike and his wife is horrible, cringe inducing, and pretty much non existent. nothing has ever stood out about this show except the daughters in the first 6 seasons. the exchange student i just noticed this season is so annoying with her broken english accent and horribly annoying puns that i have to fast forward past her scenes. and the worst thing about this show and the most annoying, in fact intolerably annoying thing is mike's wife. oh my gosh i don't think i've ever been more annoyed by her puns and her voice and anything she says. it's so fake. everytime she opens her mouth it sounds fake, manufactured, and even commercial acting like in it's fakeness. she's not even acting, she's just putting on a show as the friendly and fake sitcom wife, it's painfully annoying.

oh and the new mandy oh my gosh. it's insulting to even talk about her given how bad of a character she is and how mismatched she is with kyle. she has no chemistry with him. how in the world can they put a new actor in a role which was played by another actor on a show? this show did not become a different version of the original show, so how can they think we can cast another actor in a role on a show that is continuing a story? this doesn't make sense. she's maybe the most annoying character in tv show history. everytime she opens her mouth it's painfully annoying because it's either a stupid humor thing which is painfully unfunny or it's a they think humorous line made to show how stupid she is which is never funny and is always painfully unfunny bc it's so dumb and bad humored and childish and she is so obnoxious that i'm in pain from how annoying the new "mandy" is.

It's not a great sitcom. I wish it tone down the anti liberal jokes, not because I don't like anti liberal humor, as I love "South Park" and really admire "King Of The Hill", as much it feels forced and doesn't really fit with the tone of the show. I even agree with some of the attitudes of Tim Allen's character, but the show is doing some very common sitcom family story, than Tim Allen randomly walks in and says random anti-liberal comments, and it just takes you out of the show. The adults on the show are fine, and Tim Allen's co-workers, Kyle and his boss, are probably the best characters on the show, along with his youngest daughter, Eve, as I can already tell the kid who plays her is way too good for the show. Nancy Travis as the wife is fine, if not really that memorable. However, the most odd thing about it is the constant re-castings. They've had 2 actresses play the oldest daughter, 2 actresses play the second oldest daughters, and 3 kids play the son of the oldest daughter. 2 actors play the boyfriend and father of the kid. So, whats up with that? It's this weird mix of recasting's, attempts at edgy political stuff, and generic as hell stuff that feels like a 90s sitcom.

People watch it because it’s funny, the characters have good chemistry (after the first season blunder with Kristen), and it tackles issues that no one else will touch these days.

That it triggers snowflakes is just a plus.
