10 years have passed
and this is still a stinker. Like seriously, I've never seen a sci fi adventure flick that put me to sleep. It is that boring.

shareWhat's crazy is that the basic idea is good, however, it was moronically executed.
The general story is interesting, but then what happened Earth makes no sense given the time scale. The movie is about overcoming fear and the explanation for that arising from having to fight fear sensing aliens makes no sense, because they have advanced technology and could just shoot them, makes no sense, etc.
However, if those ideas were tweaked it could have been good.
I believe if an improved film or sequel with just Will Smith had been made, it would have been an enjoyable film.
His kid was absolutely bizarre, especially his manner of speech. He was extremely hard to watch but maybe would have been better if his dad was the main character.
