Who thinks they should have left this as a TV series...
... ok they saw a chance to make a buck, but cant see this as a feature.

shareOh, I definitely agree!
(See my review: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1740047/usercomments-2 )
Obviously, the film can reach a wider audiences (especially in the US), but the quiet poignancy, which was one of my favourite aspects of the series, was largely cut out of the film.
i reckon that was the most
important part of the show

I don't think this will get a release in the UK unless you count possibly showing up as a DVD special feature... as far as I can tell, it's merely a means of shopping the series abroad.

Without the feature I would have never known this marvelous thing existed. I will definitely try to hunt down the TV series now. I think it was well done and can't wait to see the extra footage.

Totally agree.
shareI think it should be left as a series, and I think BBC should commission a second one...possibly a tour of Wales, since Rob's from there.

I had never heard of it until I saw the trailer a few weeks ago. It looked hilarious and understated, so I wasted no time seeing it when it recently opened in theaters. I loved it and so did my date. Now, I can see how it might work well as a TV series, especially with some of the running jokes (i.e. Michael Caine), but I think it worked very well in movie format too.
shareThis movie was one of the funniest of the year. I laughed so much I cried. I wish I could have seen the TV series and maybe I will be able to find it on bittorent at some point, but haven't yet.

I watched the feature on DVD.
It had it's moments, with some very funny dialogue, a few great impersonations, and beautiful views of Britain, but it just went on a bit too long. And a lot of the gags were too repetitive.
Frankly, if the feature is representative of what appeared in the tv series, I don't know how they managed to fill out that many episodes and keep viewers tuning in.
