So who is this going to piss off?

I'm looking forward to this movie. I enjoy Alex Garland's movies.

Can't help but wonder who is going to get triggered by Civil War. Will it be the Trumpers or the Brandons.

I don't like either one of these meatheads so it doesn't matter to me.

Apparently, it has been designed so that it doesn't really map on to the currently political situation. For example, it's California and Texas together, which... well... doesn't seem wholly plausible in the real world. Garland said he figured that he doesn't really need to make a film about real world tensions because everybody already knows what they are. I think the overriding point is supposed to be against polarisation...

... but undoubtedly some people will get very upset with it through a partisan or ideological lens and type about it furiously on the internet... as happens to every single movie these days. Ad nauseam.

MAGA chuds.

Most likely the right.

Going by Garland's last movie, he's a SJW lefty for sure. It's also very clear that Nick Offerman is suppose to be playing a Trump like President.

reply

The president that no new wars started and was pulling out of the wars we were involved in

reply

Yes, but Hollywood doesn't care. They hate him.

Only a fucking fragile snowflake would come to the conclusion that the president is Trump or analogous to him. There is no reason to conclude that besides a manufactured desire to believe it. Nick is on screen for maybe 2 minutes. None of the political beliefs for either side is displayed in this film. This fantasy you've created in your head doesn't align with the real world, and the recent election is a reflection of how out of touch you liberals have become.

I think it's going to piss off nearly everybody. Based on the trailer Nick Offerman looks like a Trump type of President and its likely going to be seen as a "call to arms" for Antifa. The real finger needs to be pointed at The Deep State and establishment media that has brought America to the brink of collapse.

reply

LOL!

reply

Neither. I believe the point of the movie is to support democracy and freedom rather than promote a political party.

Centrists who don't fall for the enlightened centrism meme when one guy was LITERALLY found guilty of criminal conduct a day ago.
