I just watched the trailer and it occurs to me that nearly the entire cast (with the exception of Aubrey Plaza & Kate Mara)seem to old to play characters that are just 10 years out of high school.
I found it distracting.
I don't think they were too old to play the part being as they were pretty close to the age they were portraying, but I think some of them LOOK quite a bit older than 27/28 and that didn't work for me.
shareI disagree - looks about right to me. Besides they were all within a few years of the correct age. At my 10-year reunion, there were many classmates that looked even older than this cast. I think because "Hollywood" has used so many young, beautiful actors in most movies, we're losing perspective as to what real people look like in the real world.

I was thinking the same thing, until I came to look at their ages and realized they are the same age as me or a couple years older and I graduated in 2001 as well, which is what year i believe they had graduated in the movie. Ugh I feel old.
shareThanks for the person who posted the ages of the actors. Let this be a lesson learned: everyone is different. There is no such thing as "that girl looks older than her age" (unless maybe if we were talking about Lindsay Lohan) because we are all different. We age differently. There are some people who look older than their age and vice versa. Now unless they cast Helen Mirren in one of the main roles, I think you are being incredibly pedantic.
It's an ordinary high school day. Except that it's not.
