I almost wish i was over exaggerating but this is the biggest pile of hipster-garbage gibberish i have ever laid my eyes on. I only got to around the 1h 10 min mark because it had a high rating in imdb, and oh how it just goes to show that imdb rating isnt something you can rely on.

The only explanation i can come up with is this; there is an army of harry potter whiteknighting emma watson nerds here who give an automatic 10 to every movie she is in. That or the feminists did it, because this writer-director obviously hates men. They just happen to share the common ol' story how you will get molested by men when you are a 10 year old girl. Really? Right-o, i will be sure to never watch another movie from this director/writer, or anything with emma watson in it. She is the definition of overrated. Goodbye.

I don't understand how this can be the worst film someone has ever watched. Its message and motives seem perfectly innocent and it is hardly voyeuristic or exploitative like truly horrific films like Cannibal Holocaust or Juno.

First of all this movie involves a boy who was molested by a woman when he was about six, so you're way off. It covers a broad range of issues but does not involve feminism in anyway, so stop being a misogynistic *beep* and presuming 'feminists did it'.
This book was written in the 90's, so no it is nothing to do with this anti pop culture hipster nonsense.
I don't mind if you don't like it, but you didn't even watch the whole thing and clearly from the points you have expressed here you don't even understand it.
The rating is so high because people connect with this movie, it's insightful and it's got somewhat of an original perspective. I don't personally know anyone who has seen this movie and not liked it so it wasn't nerds and feminists it was just a general consensus.
Just because you don't like a movie, doesn't mean it's a bad movie.

I thought Logan Lerman's performance was very good. The movie tackled deeper issues than I thought it would.

That being said, I completely understand what you're saying. It was very hipster/whiny, and not necessarily because of the serious issues Charlie face, but because his friends were bad cliches, and major hypocrites to boot. I hate people who try that hard to be different.

well I'm not sure if you ever heard of "Rotten Tomatoes" because it doesn't seem like you're interested in movies, sorry I mean good movies...
anyway for people like you... : Rotten tomatoes is a site which criticizes movies and it is a very famous and valuable site and the perks of being a wallflower holds a certified "fresh" rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on reviews from 148 critics.
and almost every movie critic had a positive opinion for this movie... so I don't know why you are even talking.

you must have watched some pretty amazing movies, because this one was anything but bad.
