Probably the worst movie i've ever seen

I almost wish i was over exaggerating but this is the biggest pile of hipster-garbage gibberish i have ever laid my eyes on. I only got to around the 1h 10 min mark because it had a high rating in imdb, and oh how it just goes to show that imdb rating isnt something you can rely on.

The only explanation i can come up with is this; there is an army of harry potter whiteknighting emma watson nerds here who give an automatic 10 to every movie she is in. That or the feminists did it, because this writer-director obviously hates men. They just happen to share the common ol' story how you will get molested by men when you are a 10 year old girl. Really? Right-o, i will be sure to never watch another movie from this director/writer, or anything with emma watson in it. She is the definition of overrated. Goodbye.

You're just in the minority. You can feel superior to everyone, yay!

Looper's also got high ratings, so what?

I've never even seen a Harry Potter film, but I loved this movie. 9/10 for me, top 5 shoe-in from 2012.

Never give your opinion on something, and say you didn't finish it in the same breath.

This movie was my favorite movie of 2012, was it because of Emma Watson? Nope, I liked her in Harry Potter but her performances besides the Harry Potter movie have been weak, first My Week With Marilyn and now here, she was good as Sam and likable, but she was the weakest performer of the movie having Ezra Miller and Logan Lerman delivering really strong performances.

This is an actors movie, visually there isn't anything new, but the performances were outsanding, the story for the most part is something we all have seen before, this being a coming of age story after all, but the twists and the characters' personal problems made this movie stand out, especially Charlie's, which isn't a random twist, it is present throughout the whole story in both the book and the movie, and also that explains why Charlie is so awkward because NOBODY comes out without some sort of trauma from being molested. And Charlie isn't molested by his aunt just because she was an evil woman, she was also molested when she was young, showing the sad truth, that when untreated most of the people who have been molested will molest someone. The molesting angle was treated tastefully and not cheaply as it could've been.

This isn't a hipster movie, it takes place in 1991-1992 which if you stopped and payed attention you would've noticed by the clothing (not just those of the trio of main characters) and the technology showed throughout the film. So the music, clothing and all that stuff shows things that were actually popular at the time.

Many comentors have said "this is a movie about rich kids...", Charlie's family isn't rich at one point of the movie Charlie doesn't want to be at the hospital because he knows his family wont be able to pay the bills, and both Candace and Chris are in college because of scholarships which is something Charlie is also trying to get. And about why Charlie is about to beat down the School bullies is because Charlie was taught how to fight by Chris, and you don't have to be extremely strong to beat someone down, since the body has weak spots, like the nose.

Completely agree I couldn't have disliked the film more. The entire film reeked of self indulgence. They where trying to make an artsy cliche, but the sum is not the total of the parts. The acting was bad and boreing. I did not buy Emma Watson as a damaged teen for a second.

There are so many things I hated about this movie that I can't even bring myself to type it all out.

I've seen much worse movies than this one. But I would rate this one to be in the lower 10 to 20 percentile.

I found it extremely boring. But of course I am definitely not in the demographic that this movie probably appeals to. I wish that I realized that ahead of time.

you are exagerrating. you don't have to like it but i dont think it's one of the worst films ever. that's a bit silly. and the story is from the point of view of a teenage boy who you instantly sympathise with so the writer is no man hater

"It's the Law"
"Then the Laws Crazy!"
