i just dont understand why ppl are obsessed w/ the idea of scarjo and christina hendricks playing her...CH is talented but not as MM when it coems to comedy, scarlett is a terrible actor and doesnt have MM's charm, and neither looks ANYTHING at all like marilyn except scarlett's body is quite similar, thats it.

and scarlett playing dress-up as marilyn does NOT make her look exactly like marilyn... her face is too exotic and puffy, marilyn was classic and very soft, very feminine...

I also believe Lindsay Lohan would have looked the part better and with her troubles she has had , I think she really would have connected to the role. I also believe Scarlett Johansson would have done an outstanding job.

It's a difficult question. It depends on what you think is important. Marilyn Monroe's most obvious trait is her seductiveness. But at the same time acting chops is really important when making biopics.

Going purely for the seductive body language, I would say Scarlett Johansson or maybe a bleach blonde Christina Hendricks. If we were to go for acting chops, it could be just about any other currently fashionable actress.

Bottom line: In my opinion, you can't really ignore the fact that Monroes's career, life and fame was based on her seductive persona. That is really what Monroe is. She is seductiveness personified. So Johansson or Hendricks would be my choice.

DEF. Scarlett Johanssen, i am watching The Prestige right now and comparing her face to a picture of Marilyn, she's way more similar than Michelle Williams.

The best Marilyn impersonator I've ever seen is the one who appeared in Pulp Fiction in the scene where Vincent and Mia go to the 50's themed restaurant Jack Rabbit Slims. Get a good look at her next time you watch it, you'll see how perfect she looked. She beats any other cheap Hollywood imitation.

Christina Hendricks hands down.

If this were 25 years ago, I'd agree with the Terry Copley suggestions; she was one of the only "Marilynesque" actresses who actually did seem a bit like Marilyn.
