I was kind of stunned by it. I wasn't expecting it and it just stopped me cold. I've seen a lot of horror movies and hideous things, but for some reason, this one just nailed me.
Anyone have a similar reaction?

shareSame here. I usually don't have a problem with gore but thanks to that scene I couldn't get through the movie. It looked super realistic.
shareMe too. Horror movie gore is different because you know it's not real. But horror depicted in The Impossible and Last King of Scotland is based on real events so it hits you with true horror. I've known horror fans almost passing out over the torture scene in Last King of Scotland and you don't see anything bloody, just horrific.
Terrible wound, it would be 'Impossible' not to sustain a lethal or near lethal infection in the filth they were in. An amputation may save her if done in a timely fashion.

That was THE worst injury I've ever seen in a non-military movie. I can't believe she lived through that. It was a GAPING wound. She was wading through murky, filthy water and I had goosebumps during that whole scene. I paused it at the moment it was being shown and texted it to my sister who called me "weird" for sending her such an awful picture. I said "you have to be in awe of the makeup and special effects departments. That was amazingly awful looking".

Yes, I did not expect that at all, I didnt think she was that badly injured. When I saw the wound I was like WOAHHH!!, and it made me cringe, and normally it takes a LOT to make me uncomfortable but this surely did

shareJust seeing her leg made my leg hurt! i have seen some pretty horrible wounds in my day but that made me a bit queasy.And that one scene where the kid was in the hospital and there was a woman with her bone sticking out of her leg 😱 that was even worst.
shareOh yes when I saw it the first time and that scene came up I was like oh my god oh my god oh my gooooood. Because it looked so sore I could not even look at it all the time!! Even now watchibg it a 5th time I can't look at that scene with out closing my eyes!!!
