Planet Terror - 8/10
Larger than life action, schlocky fun, real grindhouse feel
I think Robert Rodriguez has a far greater understanding than Quentin Tarantino on how to make an ode to this style of film.
Hobo with a Shotgun 7/10
This movie successfully combined the authentic feel of a 70s exploitation flick with the new blood soaked indie homages to that era. Paper thin, but fun.
Death Proof - 3/10
Tedious dialogue, very little done with the actual concept, weak characters
Quentin's effort felt like a ho-hum version of one of his typical movies instead of injecting fun and life into the concept. The only plus was having Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a cheerleading outfit.
Machete - 5/10
Eh, this movie was good but it felt underwhelming at times. Machete had some awesome moments but I think it crossed the fine line between clever and stupid too often.
