And MORE SPOILERS MORE SPOILERS the human boy ended up saving the Jake avatar, I mean was there any fucking reason except plot armor???

Is he supposed to be Jake's biological son, which would be a physical impossibility, or were they supposed to have developed a bond during the kid's captivity that totally failed to register?
