New season?

I wasn't quite taken with the first episode, but I quite enjoyed the second. This definitely feels like Top Gear. These new presenters are pretty good. Manly, charismatic, likable. I'm almost starting to be able to understand Paddy's accent. They have a good chemistry together. If they actually leave them be for a few seasons, I think the rapport they develop should be excellent. Everything feels pretty balanced. Instead of that famous guy from Friends and a couple other blokes. They seem to have Chris in the pole position of the bunch, but I will say the show feels a bit leaderless. Unlike when Clarkson clearly held the reigns of the gang. That's not a bad thing, except it doesn't feel like a group of equals co-hosting either. It feels like a bunch of guys goofing off while the boss is away. It's pretty green, but that's just the sort of thing that should shake off after a year or two. Their enthusiasm in laughing and constantly having the best time ever is very forced and fake. They need to stop hamming it up so much. Sometimes gets veering into chucklehead territory. And a bit more work needs to be put into the celebrity interview segment. That is very sloppy. I think in general, the show needs a bit of seriousness injected into it. The Clarkson Bunch would goof off and have a good time, but they knew their cars and would occasionally get very grounded and informative. It is a car show afterall. But here we have three guys all trying to the funny man. And any good comedy team always has a straight man. Even if they trade that role off from bit to bit. So I guess changes I would make would all be on the writing/producing end.
